Gas submetering makes it possible to accurately bill each individual tenant for their own gas usage, as opposed to splitting the cost equally.
The amount of gas usage may be very different from resident to resident. The good news is that it is relatively easy to start a gas submetering project.
Much like electric, water, and thermal submetering, this ensures the transparency of utility costs for both residential and commercial spaces.
What is gas metering?
Gas metering allows for the measurement of energy used by gas consumption. It is the most accurate method for monitoring consumption and allocating gas energy costs.
What are the Benefits?
- Increased building value
- Decreased operating costs
- Billing accuracy
- Usage summary reports
- LEED certification credits
- ‘User-pay’ system
How does it work?
Gas meters measure the volume of fuel gases such as natural gas and liquefied petroleum gas using specialized flow meters. A gas meter is driven by the force of the moving gas in the pipe, and also turns faster as the flow increases. Priority then captures your monthly gas usage and automatically shares it with our billing system so we only charge tenants for what they use.
